Challenge
As part of an interview process with a government contracting firm, I was asked to design a streamlined digital experience for U.S. taxpayers to pay and manage their taxes online. The goal: make a complex, high-stakes process more user-friendly, error-resistant, and accessible.
Approach
I approached this challenge as I would any real-world UX problem—by identifying user needs, mapping key flows, and designing with clarity, hierarchy, and usability in mind. I emphasized intuitive form validation, transparent payment steps, and thoughtful error handling to reduce stress and cognitive load during filing.
Outcome
The final concept includes a simplified dashboard, a guided tax filing form, account and notification settings, and a clear confirmation experience. While speculative, the project reflects my real-world process and principles when designing for high-trust systems.
